I’ve been raving about bell sleeves for a while now and one of my first looks when I started the blog was bell-sleeves (check out this post). I absolutely adore a fiery red bell sleeves tops with flowing effects as I walk. Such a small detail but big impact on the stylishness of our looks.
I’m excited to write about my first foray into denim look in years! Yes, I do wear jeans occasionally, but very rarely denim jacket for shirts. Since starting my blog, I’ve gone a lot bolder and tapped into areas I have not gone to before. Denim is definitely one of those areas that I felt was not for me, but I really had fun trying.
So long, winter! Spring is coming and we’re bringing the fresh color in. Yellow is IN this spring. I’m seeing them in every clothing store and they look great on so many items. One of my favorite things in the spring is the trench coat. They are so easy to pull off and trendy to wear to everywhere. I can say that I’m currently obsessed with yellow trench coats!
Date nights are special nights to a lot of us. We want to look our best, especially when that date involves going to a show like the ballet or the opera. I think a nice dress is always a safe and easy choice for date night outfits. I think that dresses are a great invention because you don’t have to worry much about coordination – just throw on the dress and carry your special events bag and there you go.
If you’ve been following my style diaries for a while, you may have noticed that I LOVE day to night styles a lot. I love the idea of transition from work to cocktail party effortlessly. Metallic midi skirt is a great item for this purpose. Not only is the length of midi skirt appropriate for work, the subtle metallic texture also makes it great for cocktail parties after work.
One of the biggest Spring 2018 style trends is definitely floral! I’ve recently tapped into the world of floral clothing and I have to say I am getting more into in every day. Ever wonder how to wear a floral dress better? The key is: get the right floral pattern for you and pair it with light-colored shoes!
As we get closer to spring, my obsession with red is also growing. We’re going to see brighter weather – what’s brighter than red? Recently, I came across a red lace top from Rent the Runway and it caught my attention immediately. This is a perfect day to night top for me. It will guarantee lots of compliments from your coworkers and you won’t feel underdressed if you’re heading to a cocktail party after work. Since red is the main color, pairing it with a pair of sexy red booties is a natural choice.
When I was preparing for the launch of my blog, I thought hard about what I would describe my style as. The word that stuck in my head was “urban chic”. As a career-driven woman living and working in one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the world, I can’t help but fall in love with the style that embodies my personality and lifestyle. Recently, I have started wearing more pleated skirt and got more comfortable with midi skirt. If you read one of my previous blog posts, you might remember that I once thought long skirts made me look super weighed down and conservative, but they are exactly the opposite!
It is almost that time of the year! Spring is coming and Mother’s Day is almost around the corner. When looking for gifts, I always try to go unique. How disappointing would it be if you realize your loved ones have already received similar gifts from other people? I received my first watch as a gift from my mother when I was 13 years old. Even years later, I still remember that it was a cute metal watch in rose gold – my favorite color! In fact, I loved it so much I almost had a heart attack when I accidentally misplaced it in the bathroom at work. So much so I developed a crush on my coworker who helped me find it (but that’s another story).
Earlier this year, I did a 3 day yellow outfit challenge – wear one color multiple ways to start pushing my creative boundaries in fashion. I honestly loved it because there are so many ways to mix and match – the possibilities are endless. With that being said, I think yellow is really a color for the spring. When it comes to spring fashion, why not brighten it up a little bit and adds some pop of color?
